Juanita Bendel, 39 and her daughter Ava Cole were killed on New Year’s Eve after being electrocuted at their farm at Tumoulin, in Queensland’s Tablelands Region.

“I can’t even think at the moment. They are just a wonderful family and we’re just all so devastated,” she said.
“It is beyond comprehension. (Ava) was a beautiful little 10-year-old.”
Police said a family member had attached a cable from an electric fence to the bull bar of a semi-trailer to keep some horses from escaping.
It is believed the truck later became electrified when a battery charger was attached to the vehicle.

Ava’s four-year-old sister Hannah was also shocked and received minor injuries
Mrs Bendel’s husband made the grim discovery when he returned to the house, after finding their eldest daughter in hysterics.
He attempted to revive them by performing CPR, also being shocked in the process.
“He began to give CPR… paramedics tried to resuscitate both mother and child but efforts were negative,” Sup Geoff Sheldon told the Post.
“This struck at the heart of the community. Everyone knew them and came to help at a time of crisis and have all been horrendously affected.”

Workplace Health and Safety has been advised and police are preparing a report for the coroner.
Local councillor Annette Haydon, who knew the family, said Juanita was well known in the community and “always had the biggest smile on her face”.
