Course TTL1: Conduct in-service inspection and safety testing of electrical appliances and cord sets to AS/NZS 3760

For those wanting to learn how to correctly test and tag a range of common electrical appliances of basic design.

Our one day test tag course is ideally suited for tradespeople, maintenance staff and other persons required to perform or oversee test and tagging duties on a range of common workplace appliances and cord sets.

No electrical qualification or license required. Some knowledge of basic electrical theory is helpful but not essential.

• Electrical fundamentals
• Class I and Class II appliances
• Circuit protection fundamentals
• Electrical safety and OH&S
• Review of Standard AS/NZS 3760
• Appliance inspection procedure
• Earth continuity testing
• Insulation resistance testing
• Leakage current testing
• Polarity testing
• Testing of difficult appliances
• Safety switch / RCD testing
• Failed appliance requirements
• Passed appliance requirements
• Record keeping
• Assessment

• Session on test and tag requirements under AS/NZS 3012 (Electrical installations—Construction and demolition sites)
• Time for you to practice using both manual and fully automated test equipment.
